The Kingsley Avenue Church of Christ is not so much a name, as a description. We are a church that belongs to God. Each of us recognized the sins in our life and has come to God for salvation as the Bible instructs. We have no denominational affiliation. We are simply Christians following the teachings of Jesus, His apostles and prophets found in the New Testament. We find teachings concerning our attitudes, actions, words and thoughts as individuals. We also find a pattern for how Jesus wants His church to function. It is our commitment to live by these teachings to the best of our ability.

     As we worship God and follow Jesus every day of our lives, we seek to show our love for God through caring, compassionate service to others. This loving spirit in the church builds a atmosphere of care and concern for the eternal spiritual good of each person’s soul.

Worship Services

Our worship is simple and based on the examples of the first Christians as they worshipped God. Our primary focus is on praising God, rather than pleasing ourselves or others. We worship God by using only those expressions of worship authorized in the Bible. We are to worship in “spirit” with the proper attitude or reverence and in “truth” as the way prescribed by God in His word.
 Our services include:

Singing

The song leader will announce the song and he will lead the congregation in a cappella singing. Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16.

Prayers

Men of the congregation offer prayers for those who need God’s power and forgiveness and to praise His greatness. The congregation silently prays along in spirit. James 5:16-18; I Timothy 2:8.

The Lord’s Supper

Christians will partake of the Lord’s Supper each Sunday. While partaking of the bread we are to think of the body of Jesus, dying on the cross. When the fruit of the vine is served, our thoughts will be of the blood Jesus shed for us. I Corinthians 11:23-24.

Contribution

A collection basket is passed giving each Christian an opportunity to give back to the Lord a portion of what He has blessed them.

Preaching

A sermon will be presented based on a selected portion of the Bible. At the end of each sermon, the speaker will offer an invitation to anyone who wants to become a Christian or for Christians who would like to ask for prayers of the congregation. Matthew 28:18-20.
